Think about an environment where you have hundreds of people of your age in a completely strange or rather new environment. Everyone is wondering where to go, where to hang out, searching for new friends. It was the Induction Day in BVRIT, my new college where I had to spend my next four years. Wondering what I would be doing here for such a long period of time, I was lost in the crowd here. I could clearly see the tensed, pale, enthusiastic and eager faces around me probably having the same thought and looking for new friends. The inspiring speech by our Chairman sir was really comforting that eased my nerves. It was truly a heartily welcome by the head of the institution. Then three of the final year students who had topped in JNTU and affiliated colleges delivered a motivational cum welcome speech for the freshers. I thought even I would be in their place just in four years and who knows in the same place welcoming a new batch of juniors. Well, ironically I went too far away in my thoughts, on the first day of my college thinking about my position after four years.
I went around the campus as it was the first time I had visited the campus. The lush green surrounding of the campus especially the garden near the food court was impressive. Walking towards the foodcourt, one could smell the delicious dishes.
Now, when my first year of college life is coming to an end, the first visit to my college is really memorable. The first year was really joyful, full of new friends and colorful events. The Traditional day, the Carnival, the Annual day, the Flash mob at Forum mall and no doubt the Zealotz 2k15 were the events that every BVRITian eagerly waits for. The Zealotz was the most memorable event of my first year at BVRITN. Being the annual fest of the college, it ought to be a mind blowing event and it proved to be one. Days before the Zealotz fest, promotional videos were released. A car rally named as Carnival was organized to promote the event. The enthusiastic students went around the city for the rally showing flags and banners of Zealotz. The Flash mob was organized in the Forum mall in which the students performed dance in front of a huge gathering.
Here comes the Zealotz!!
It started with the bike stunt show in the evening. Their heroic performance was quite exciting. Many food stalls, snacks stalls, cold drink stalls and dinner stalls were setup. We had a lot of choice, a lot of variety. The event consisted of the musical shows, bands and the dance shows. The musical night by the special attraction of the Zealotz, Anup Rubens, was very melodious. It is not every day we witness a live performance by an established music director.
I was anxiously waiting for the Sunburn. I had just heard of such events and listened to the music by DJ’s of sunburn online. It was the first time I was going to be the part of a real Sunburn event (Sunburn campus with Arreo).
Once the sunburn started everyone jumped up on their feet, waving hands and dancing to the beats of the DJ. The whole campus was echoing with the loud music. It was an event worth attending. Zealotz has a lasting impression on my mind. I really wish for more and more colorful and memorable fests and events in my college- My BVRIT.
